A dynamic web design can be written using a server-side scripting language such as PHP, ASP, JSP, or Coldfusion that pulls data or dynamic content from a database and then displayed to the user.

Typically, a static web design would require less time to develop than a dynamic web design even though it may offer the same amount of content and in most cases will cost less to develop.

In most cases, a dynamic web design may cost more to develop than a static web design but typically provides more functionality which can increase sales and reduce the need for on-going content updating and maintenance. Over time, a dynamic web design can be more cost-effective.
